据路透社4月5日报道，英国将于当地时间晚7点（北京时间次日凌晨3点）播出英国女王伊丽莎白二世在位68年以来第5次电视特别演讲，集结全国人心，呼吁英国人表现出与前人相同的决心，抗击新冠疫情带来的破坏与挑战。

英国女王的正式讲话极为罕见，除了圣诞节演讲之外，在女王漫长的一生中，她只公开演讲过4次：包括1991年的海湾冲突，1997年戴安娜王妃之死和2002年的女王母亲葬礼，只有一次演讲的内容是令人愉悦的，那就是2012年女王在即位60年庆典上发布的演讲。

注意reassure这个词后面需要加sb. 其固定用法为reassure sb about sth / reassure sb that…，不可以直接说reassure that…

这里面有一个很值得学习的表达：fellow-feeling 同心同德

fellow表示“同事，同类，同伴”等意思，fellow-feeling有种put yourself in his shoes的感觉，所以翻译成了同心同德。

我们再来看看characterise这个词。我们都很熟悉这个词，但可能没认真看过英文释义：

characterize：to be typical of a person, place or thing 是…的特征，以…为典型

The rolling hills characterize this part of England.

连绵起伏的丘陵地是英格兰这一地区的特征。
